Good morning, Happy Warriors! ๐
Common sense has re-entered the room!
Today is Wednesday, February 26, 2025.
Hereโs a Bible verse with a good reminder as you continue this week:
"Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart" - Psalm 37:3
And now, hereโs this weekโs edition of โWhatโs Up, America? ๐บ๐ธโ as I head back to school this morning:
๐บ๐ธ Trump's First Month in Review: Promises Made, Promises Kept
[The White House]
Most presidents are judged off of their accomplishments in their first 100 days. But not this president! Heโs implemented warp speed in Washington and take todayโs first Cabinet meeting as a perfect example. Both Biden and Obama had to wait until mid-April to hold their first cabinet meetings due to slow confirmations. Thanks to a fast-acting Senate GOP, Trumpโs cabinet is complete and will meet this afternoon, before the end of February.
President Trump has accomplished more in his first month in office than any president has in 100 days. And that right there is the answer to every scholar and historian who will study the 2024 cycle and try to decipher how Trump won: he ran on a promises made, promises kept agenda, and he delivered!
In his first month of his second term, President Donald J. Trump hit the ground running like he had four years to prepare every detail of his first day, because he did! He wasted no time reaffirming his commitment to the America First agenda that had defined his presidency, which propelled him back into the White House.
In mere minutes after taking the oath, he addressed voterโs #1 issue: border security. He immediately took action to secure the southern border, expanding construction of the border wall and implementing tougher enforcement measures to crack down on illegal immigration and human trafficking. At the same time, he reinstated policies that had been undone by the previous administration, including the "Remain in Mexico" policy, which had been highly effective in deterring illegal crossings. With these quick moves, Trump made it clear that border security and national sovereignty were once again a top priority.
On the economic front, an issue voters trusted Trump so much on they crossed party lines to support him, Trump reignited the booming economy he had built in his first term, cutting burdensome regulations and ensuring that American energy independence remained a pillar of his policies. He approved new oil and gas projects, reversing the anti-energy policies that had driven up costs for American families. His administration also focused on bringing manufacturing jobs back to the U.S. by continuing to push for fair trade deals and holding foreign competitors accountable. The stock market responded positively, with confidence surging as businesses once again saw a pro-growth, pro-American leader at the helm. Drill Baby Drill wasnโt just a bumper sticker - itโs his economic policy in three words.
Beyond immigration and the economy, Trump reasserted strong leadership on the world stage. No longer are we the laughing stock of the world! Heโs stood firm against foreign adversaries, strengthening alliances with nations that respected American strength while making it clear that the United States would not be taken advantage of. His administration also prioritized law and order, working with state and local governments to combat rising crime and ensuring that law enforcement officers had the resources and support they needed. In just one month, Trump proved that his second term would be just as bold and transformative as his first, delivering real results for the American people.
And last but not least, my favorite: DOGE. In his first month, Trump also took significant steps toward making the federal government more efficient and accountable to the American people. He established a new focus on eliminating waste, streamlining bureaucratic processes, and cutting unnecessary regulations that had slowed down economic growth and burdened businesses. His administration began efforts to audit and reform various agencies, ensuring taxpayer dollars were being used effectively rather than funding bloated government programs. Trumpโs leadership emphasized that the federal government should work for the peopleโnot the other way around. By pushing for greater efficiency, he set the stage for a government that was leaner, more responsive, and focused on delivering real results rather than getting bogged down in red tape and bureaucracy.
Every president says theyโre going to make the country safer, improve the economy, be a global superpower, and cut waste and spending, but Trump actually did it. Has he ruffled feathers in the last 30 days? Absolutely, which means heโs doing something right!
Winston Churchill once said, "You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life." Itโs no secret the 47th president has his fair share of enemies, but thankfully 78 million Americans trusted the loud-mouthed orange man enough to put him back in the Oval Office, and their gamble proved successful!
The Gipper famously had a plaque reading "It CAN Be Done!" on the Resolute Desk. It appears his successor, the 47th president, metaphorically has one heโs reminding himself and carrying out every morning: Promises made, promises kept!
