Today is Wednesday, April 2, 2025.
Hereās a Bible verse with a good reminder as you continue this week:
"For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding." Proverbs 2:6
And now, hereās this weekās edition of āWhatās Up, America? šŗšøā as I head off to school this morning:
š° Itās Time for Trump to Pull $9B from Harvard
[Reuters]
Iām all in on President Donald Trumpās move to consider yanking $9 billion in federal funding from Harvard University for failing to tackle the rise of antisemitism on campus. This bold step proves Trumpās fighting for whatās right. As a Gen Z conservative looking at colleges, Iām sick of elite schools like Harvard prioritizing woke nonsense over real safetyāand Trumpās calling them out.
The Trump administration announced this review on March 31, targeting $255.6 million in contracts and $8.7 billion in multi-year grants to Harvard, all because theyāve let antisemitism fester. This isnāt newāHarvard, Penn, and MIT got grilled by Congress in late 2023 for this exact failure, and nothingās changed. Jewish students are facing harassment, and Harvardās response? More ādialogue programsā while the problem festers. Thatās Harvard in a nutshellāhiding behind āacademic freedomā while Jewish kids suffer.
Trumpās not playing. Heās already in talks to pull $400 million from Columbia over the same issue, and he canceled $175 million from Penn for their transgender sports policies. This isnāt about politicsāitās about accountability. Harvardās president, Alan Garber, whined that losing funds would āhalt life-saving research,ā but what about the lives on campus right now? Antisemitism isnāt just words; itās a threat. The Department of Education warned 60 schools, including Harvard, of Title VI enforcement if they donāt protect Jewish students. Trumpās review is the wake-up call they need.
As a senior, this hits home. Iām looking at colleges, and I donāt want a campus where Iām dodging hateāor watching my friends get targeted. Harvardās had 15 months to fix this, and theyāve failed. Trumpās giving us another big win by holding these elites accountable. Pulling $9 billion sends a message: no more excuses. If Harvard canāt protect students, they donāt deserve taxpayer cashāperiod.
Harvard can cry all they want, but theyāve had their chance. I want a future where schools prioritize safety over ideologyāTrumpās $9 billion play is a step toward that. Gen Zās watching, and weāre done with the excuses. This move unshackles my generation, and Iām here for it.

You wonder what academic autonomy might mean when a single university receives $9 bn in federal funding. āItās a university but not as we know it, Jim.ā
