Good morning, Happy Warriors! š
Common sense has re-entered the room!
Today is Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
Hereās a Bible verse with a good reminder as you continue this week:
"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6
And now, hereās this weekās edition of āWhatās Up, America? šŗšøā as I head off to school this morning:
š Iām a High School Senior, and Hereās Why I Back Trump Closing the Department of Education

Iām an 18-year-old high school senior, and Iām pumpedāPresident Donald Trumpās push to defund the Department of Education is the boldest move Iāve seen for my generation. This is a big win for the next generation of Americans as weāve finally got a President who fights for us, not against us, and scrapping this bloated bureaucracy proves heās serious about improving the lives of all Americans. As a Gen Z conservative staring down graduation, I see a system thatās failing usāindoctrinating more than educatingāand Trumpās fix is exactly what we need.
Letās break it down. The Department of Educationās been around since 1980, wasting billionsā$80 billion last year aloneāand what do we get? Test scores tanking, kids who canāt read at grade level, and a one-size-fits-all mess thatās more about woke agendas than real learning. Iām sitting in classrooms where teachers are forced to push critical race theory or gender ideology instead of math or history. And you're insane if you suggest they start a life skills class teaching my peers and I how to pay taxes or buy a home. Thatās the Education Department in a nutshellāless about real-world skills, more about political control.
Trumpās plan is simple! Shut it down, send the power back to the states as our Framers intended from the start, and let parents and local schools call the shots. Look at the dataāstates like Florida and Texas are already crushing it with school choice and local control, while blue-state disasters like California churn out kids who canāt compete. Defunding means my future classmates in trade schools or colleges wonāt be stuck with cookie-cutter nonsenseātheyāll get options that actually work. Iām not here for a $200,000 gender studies degree; I want a job, not a lecture.
The haters are already screamingāsaying itās reckless, that kids will suffer. But Iāve seen the system up close. Schools are drowning in red tapeāteachers spend half their time on federal paperwork instead of teaching. The Departmentās a middleman skimming cash that could go straight to classrooms. Trumpās not abandoning education; heās unshackling it. It's time to wake up, this is our shot! FInally, states can innovate, parents can pick, and kids like me arenāt pawns in D.C.ās game.
This hits home for Gen Z. Defundingās not just policyāitās personal. My generationās done with being guinea pigs for liberal experiments. We want practical skillsācoding, trades, real historyānot pronouns and propaganda. Trump gets that, and with this promise, he fired up 46% of 18-29-year-olds in November, up 10 points from 2020.
Sure, the Leftās losing itācalling it chaos. But chaos is what weāve got now: a department thatās failed for 45 years while costs skyrocket and scores plummet. As a senior, Iām not waiting for permission to think for myselfāTrumpās plan gives me, my teachers, and my state the reins. Gen Zās ready to ditch the bureaucrats and build something real. Letās get started!
