Yes, they tried again: September 18, 2024
How many assassination attempts are too many before they change their rhetoric?
Good morning, Happy Warriors! 👋
Common sense has re-entered the room!
Today is Wednesday, September 18, 2024. We are 58 days away from the 2024 election.
Take a deep breath - God is still in control!
Here’s a Bible verse to get you through this week:
“Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.” - Romans 14:19
Here’s this week’s of “What’s Up, America? 🇺🇸” as I head off to school this morning:
The Second Attempt: How many is too many?

The typically quiet Sunday afternoon news cycle was quickly interrupted when Trump’s team sent out a message that he was “safe” after shots were fired.
With no other context, the quiet afternoon quickly became hectic as primetime weekday anchors drove in to the studios to take over special coverage of what we all still had PTSD from just 65 short days ago.
Sure enough, reports were true and a gunman just a few hundred yards from President Trump was able to spend 12 hours against the fence line with a AK-47 pointed out. Luckily, thanks to the swift and brave actions of Trump’s detail they saw the barrel and caught him down the road.
There’s two facets to this I want to breakdown today.
First, the reality of the world we live in today. Just pause for a moment and process that we live in an America where a former president who’s the leading candidate to return to the same office has been the target of an attempted assassination…twice! That’s the America my peers and I are growing up in. We’re being assured this isn’t the norm, but it’s sure being treated as just another news story the way the media has already moved on to the next hot topic!
Next, and most importantly, the rhetoric that got us here. I was a little upset Monday morning when I was on FOX and I watched the montage of elected Democrats using hateful and dangerous rhetoric against Trump dating back to his ride down the golden escalator. When you wake up every single day and call the man a “threat to democracy” and refer to him as “Hitler”, you can’t be shocked when your radical supporters try to take shots at him!
How many attempts are enough?
That’s my question to Harris and Biden this morning. How many attempts on Trump’s life will it take for you to tone down the rhetoric? When will enough be enough?
I’m proudly voting for the guy that scares the radicals so much they’ve tried to kill him twice now! And remember this - they wouldn’t keep trying to kill him if he was really doing so bad in the polls!

I spent last week’s newsletter breaking down the debate moment by moment: the good, the bad, and what’s next. If you missed it, read it now by clicking here!
I ended that breakdown by saying I’m interested to see how both candidates performance sways polling. Most polling pre-debate, across the board, had Harris at anywhere from +1 to +3. As of last night, Harris remained around +2 or +3. There appeared to be no national shift post debate. Why is that?
I laid out last week a few of the opportunities I think Trump missed in the debate (tying her to Biden’s economy, Afghanistan, lack of policies/plan, etc) due to being a little flustered. Overall, his job on the stage was to make the pitch to independent voters and disenfranchised Democrats about why he deserves another term to correct the failures of the current administration. He already has his base. To win, I said he must play the addition game and pick up voters. Compared to Harris, who had no plan at all to fix the nation she’s broken, he delivered a more disciplined strategy to set our nation back on track. I think that’s why he didn’t lose support in the polls, and if anything, prevented the boost everyone predicted Harris would get!
Harris spent her closing statement saying she was “turn the page” and chart a “new way forward”, but as Trump correctly state in his closing statement “why hasn’t she done it?”. She wrote the page we’re currently on! What are we moving on from? Her!

Kamala Harris is from a middle class family…just in case you haven’t heard her mention a million times in the last week!
How did that come up?
Well, the ABC “moderators” started the debate by asking her her plan to fix the economy. Her response? Not some crafted strategy, just a history lesson on her upbringing. That is the epitome of her campaign! All vibes and no policies! Lots of word salads but eventually the American people want red meat (policies) to survive!
This week, Harris’ campaign finally took the training wheels off (her support animal Tim Walz) and let her do a solo interview by herself! Good for her! Sitting Vice President of the United States and she’s finally allowed to talk to a reporter with no adult supervision! The journalist started the interview with the same question as the one posed at the debate: the American people want to know your plan to fix the economy, what is it? She gave the same, choreographed answer, “Well, I grew up in a middle class family…”.
Kamala, that’s awesome! Kudos! But us first-time voters deserve to know how you’re going to make life affordable for us! How are we going to rent our first apartment? Afford gas? Start a family? We can’t thanks to your administration!
I think Harris wishes she was her boss and just got questions about her favorite ice cream flavor!
